This is an independent training College where you may study in different disciplines for a career, training to become either; a Coach, Hypnotherapist, Counsellor, Advanced Counsellor, or Qualified Psychotherapist.

There are many other Masterclass courses taught by our head tutor and clinical lead, Psychotherapist/Psychotraumatologist the Rev Dr George Booty, such as specialised courses, i.e. to become a Certified Trauma informed Counsellor, after graduation. There are over very many courses that will eventually be uploaded regarding Counselling & Psychotherapy skills which will serve as CPD courses for your future success and to cover ongoing training within the professions, so you are not left in isolation after graduation from our diploma courses..

You may also want training to become a coach and combine this with a counselling career as there is often a crossover in these ares nowadays.

IMPORTANT: Once you Register, first stage, then you will need to 'ENROL' on the course and year you have chosen. We are her to help you decide what level you should begin here in Convergence and if you wish to get advice and find out the best personal route on our courses.

FREE Pre-Introduction - short course of 4 studies to complete, if you wish to do so, and this may be completed at your leisure and in your own time. It is not mandatory in any way.

Next you will be able to learn from the Basic

Introduction to Counselling Level-1 course (only 12 weeks), for only about £12 per week. This also helps people to understand the basics when they do not wish to train to be a counsellor.

Then you may continue learning as a more serious student, as an

Improver in Counselling Level-2 course (20 weeks) and with a view to continue on the main route to achieve main Certification.

Foundation Course in Counselling Certificate takes you to the Level-3 (Intermediate level of counselling, which is a 1 Year Certificated course). You will need the Foundation course, or the equivalent work / life related experience, or specific training in Counselling (past Level-3) to gain entry to the diplomas. This is our foundational year for all diplomas. Students will not be classified as Counsellors until completion of the Level-4 Diploma.

COUNSELLOR LEVEL. Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy Level-4 (2 year course) this may enable you to graduate as a Qualified Counsellor. You may then start a counselling service of your own once qualified, if you so desire, but only when you have qualified.

You may then decide to continue studying further to become an

ADVANCED COUNSELLOR PG LEVEL-5 - Advanced Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy Level-5 (1 year). If you wish to apply for accreditation you will need to reach at least this stage of training. You need to have a Level-4 before studying on this diploma.

You may even decide to train all the way up, by studying at a post-graduate standard on the

PSYCHOTHERAPIST PG LEVEL-7 - Professional Counselling & Psychotherapy Diploma Level-6/7 (This is a 4 year part-time course, but we do have fast track, full-time opportunities as well). This course takes you to a fully qualified Psychotherapist Level-7, where you may even run your own private Psychotherapy Practice. You may also decide to Study for a Vocational Masters degree.

Entry level requirements for the above :-

PG LEVEL-7 Professional Counselling & Psychotherapy course. You will need to have either the completed Convergence Foundation course final paper at level 'B' Pass, or above, or a Uni 1st Degree in Counselling. Also if you have already studied Counselling or Psychotherapy, or related fields at Masters Degree level, you may be able to start on a higher year with us (possibly 2nd, or if relevant, even 3rd year) on the 4 Year PG Professional Psychotherapy Diploma.

You may also apply and gain 'Accreditation' status, through the CPFI (Central Professional Foundation & Institute) which is our awarding institute, and you may also apply to the CPFI through Convergence College to do that, even if you have studied elsewhere.
